Iran Must Not Be Allowed Nuclear Weapons

By Deal Hudson

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made his annual address to the United Nations General Assembly late last week.  He reminded America and the free world just what a crazed world view he purports when he called for an investigation into the United States attack on its own World Trade Centers on 9/11.  It was brilliant theater and a classic distraction technique to be sure.  What he didn’t want you and I to focus on was what his brutal, menacing regime is doing to its own people, to its neighbors, and to the world.

Imam: Prospective Mosque Location not “Hallowed Ground”

In the English language certain phrases are not tricky but are done by many political leaders as a ploy for their own success. Governmental members, especially in recent times, are continually redefining some of clearest phrases such as “Financial reform” and “Student Loan Overhaul.”  Even more recently, we come to find even religious leaders also redefining phrases for their own sake. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has attempted to create his own definition of the phrase “sacred ground” to pretty much anything but he plans to build a Cordoba House/Park 51 mosque.

Using our Rights against Our Own: The 9-11 Mosque and Religious Rights

There is one consistent factor of our society which we are seeing more and more: Using our rights against ourselves in order to protect others.  A great recent example is the 9-11 Mosque.  Almost daily, people are debating the 9-11 Mosque and whether it should be placed two blocks where terrorists involved in the same religion took down the twin towers and changed the nation and the world forever.  When the Mosque was first announced, it was a blip on the television. Aside from some conservative groups and tea party members, even the related rallies was lacking publicity despite taking place right where most mainstream media has their central headquarters.  Now that it has been approved, people are screaming and the media responding.

Just as immediately, political leaders began to state the right to practice religion as a reason why this factor should not be evaded.  Aside from the fact that the head of the project will not present where his millions in funding came from and has discussed his project in one breath while blaming America for the attack in the second, America once again has to turn the other cheek while being spit in the face.  Defending religious… Read more

Will Obama Outsource US Airlift to Russia or France?

With the headlines dominated by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, a controversial recess appointment, and Cold-war-era spy swaps, it is easy to lose sight of some very important national security issues. How the government spends money is often the real policy more than press secretary statements. With Congress considering defense appropriations, an important question is whether Congress and the President will provide our military with the equipment that they need to do their job and whether the Administration will attempt to balance the budget on the backs of our troops.

There is strong bipartisan support on Capitol Hill for maintaining and purchasing the widely versatile and highly capable C-17 airlifter. It is the only U.S. made military wide-body airlifter and it is the most flexible and most capable airlifter in the world. The C-17 can perform strategic and tactical missions, and serve military and humanitarian functions. It can land on standard runways and austere remote dirt airfields anywhere around the world. It can airlift troops, equipment, and supplies on a moment’s notice, as well as perform medical evacuations. Read more

No Longer A Rumor: Obama Wants Amnesty

The people who watch politics closely expected it, the ones who didn’t assumed it and now we know it. Through an internal U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service memo, the Obama Administration blatantly confirmed amnesty is their number one objective regarding illegal immigration.  Actually calling removal of persons who are not in the United States legally a “threat”, this is not only proof of a Capitol Hill rumor that was just in the past few month showing teeth, but another spit mark on the Constitution made by our current leader.

While the Constitution is vague when discussing the ability and standards of Executive orders, it does show that it is within the limits of the leader that the actions should stand.  Nonetheless, through an Executive Order Obama plans to replace actual and real reform regarding Immigration with aspects that equal amnesty for illegal aliens; The same document Obama used to lure upcoming former legislator Bart Stupak which turned out to be less worth the ink used to write it, the document in question discusses it will include steps such as a “deferred action” to allow illegal aliens to stay in the country, legally as well as extending the “grace period”… Read more

Fairness, Not Protectionism

DoD Must Weigh Unlawful and Unfair Advantage in Tanker Bid

The United States achieved a major milestone in the long-overdue competition to build America’s next generation of aerial refueling tankers when the House passed the Fiscal Year 2011 National Defense Authorization Act. The House adopted the Inslee-Tiahrt amendment by an overwhelming vote of 410-8.

This provision, patterned after the Fair Defense Competition Act authored by Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., and myself, forces the Department of Defense to consider any potentially unfair competitive advantage a competitor has in the KC-X acquisition process and apply it equally to both bidders. But despite this prudent defense acquisition change, many false charges have been leveled against this effort that was overwhelming supported. Read more

America Deserves the Apology

BP is deserving of no apology; the real apology, should be to the American people. What is the real “shakedown” are the actions taken by the Obama Administration in order to milk whatever they can get from the BP spill aftermath. While they are happily having speeches cloaked in actions toward BP when in reality are a push for pending legislation, the actions that they are supposedly forcing against BP is already occurring. The same amount of money, $20 billion, is already pre-arranged as a start for BP to pay for the effects of the tragedy to an “independent” party. Further, they have especially recently accepted liability which will result in many costly civil cases.

Before the fund, $100 Billion has already been paid to workers that were unemployed by the ban on offshore drilling which by the way, Obama placed on our nation in a time of already consistent recession and overseas oil reliance. While liberal political strategist James Carville may have called the action “A little old-school Read more
