The Republican Agenda: Stand Firm »

Over at Townhall.com there’s a great summation of Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell’s speech given at the Heritage Foundation today.  In his commentary on McConnell’s remarks, Guy Benson concludes that the Senator, along with Representative John Boehner, “…seem to understand that the conservatives that fueled this week’s GOP wave have expectations, and that a failure to address those expectations would be unacceptable and politically costly.”

Let’s hope so.  We have …

The Conservative Mandate »

I’d like to think that this election was a referendum against passing bills before we find out what’s in them.

Okay, okay, we still have to deal with Barney Frank; chalk it up to America’s need for comic relief.

Am I excited that Jon Runyan is one of New Jersey’s newest Congressmen?  What good Eagles fan wouldn’t be?  But we need to remember that this midterm election wasn’t a game.  …

Don't Change The Constitution! »

In many parts of the country, voters will head to the polls tomorrow to select a new Senator or Governor.  In Virginia, we have no statewide races.  In my home in the Shenandoah Valley, we don’t even have much in the way of a race for House of Representatives, as the Democratic Party didn’t even field a candidate.  Nevertheless, we do have a number of races for offices like City …

Don't 'Commit to Vote' »

Barack Obama, via Twitter, once again sounded the call to his supporters to encourage voting this time via the Facebook application, “Commit To Vote,” on Thursday, October 28, 2010.  The application’s development was funded by Organizing for America, a community organizing project of the Democratic National Committee.  Although the app is not partisan in nature it raises some serious privacy concerns, and it encourages more mindless, uneducated activism.…

Reid’s former Press Secretary Situation Screams Another Threat To Our Nation »

Political offices have their own personalities, usually reflecting either the leadership or the party involved.  However, there is an unspoken rule and understanding that whatever you do or have done can and will affect your political boss.  In turn, the political leader has a consistent requirement to know pretty much everything about you and the people you commiserate with.  Factors of the relationship such as a romantic involvement, professional partnership …

Alex Sink: Daniel Webster 2010, Alan Grayson 2012? »

This term will see redistricting, a once in a decade process by which all congressional, state level and regional seats are redrawn.  We need to work hard to elect a Republican governor, unless we want to cede as many as 6 congressional seats to the Democrats.

As of this email, Sandy Adams is poised to beat Suzanne Kosmas.  We may well be on track to seeing Allen West elected to …

Tea Party Endorsement Stress Trauma »

The dreaded PEST is back with a vengeance.

Post-Election Stress Trauma emerged in the U.S. in 2004 after President Bush won reelection.  The symptoms included feelings of sadness, frustration, isolation, bitterness, moodiness and fear.  In severe cases it elicited irrational impulses to emigrate to Canada or even France.

PEST in 2010 has mutated into the insidious TEAPEST, which stands for Tea Party Endorsement Stress Trauma.  It hit Republicans in the …

Ignorance of Dems is Now Going Too Far »

Ignorance. It is a factor of the liberal leadership and has been pretty much accepted by aspects of society such as the media.  However, Massachusetts Representative Tierney has given another definition to the word as he consistently states he did not know anything regarding his own wife’s involvement in her brother’s illegal business.…

Media: Charachter only Matters if you are Republican »

“He jumped out of his chair and grabbed her about the neck as he slammed her into the refrigerator. He then grabbed her about both arms, shaking her as they both went over to the kitchen counter, which Mrs. Wilson struck with enough force to take the breath out of her. She then fell to the floor, hitting the bottom door to the sink. As she laid there stunned, she …

What the GOP Pledge Reflects and Why We Need To Stand By It »

When the Pledge to America was first announced, it immediately met backlash from the other side of the aisle. President Obama began a tour dedicated specifically to breaking down the plan’s items one by one.  While to many political strategists, this response may be seen as politics as usual, there are many holes in the argument that show his plans and the plans of his liberal followers may be sinking …
